Christmas arrived early for me as I directed our first project with McDonald's and the amazing Red Consultancy. Together, we produced a series of 'Faux OOH' films for the launch of 'Festive Wins'. During a three-week period, we journeyed across the UK, filming famous city landmarks in a UGC style. We then created enchanting CG elements to promote the '99p' campaign.
Within a tight timeframe, collaborative creativity was crucial to meet project deadlines. Directed by me, we chose London, Birmingham, and Edinburgh as our cities, swiftly identifying hero offers with the client. Utilising a sketch & toon style for storyboarding, we visualised each vignette's concept. Despite challenging weather, our small crew captured test shots each morning in the selected cities, allowing quick client reviews. Simultaneously, our 3D animators and VFX artists, under my guidance, created CG assets, providing style frames and pre-visualisations. After LiDar scanning on location, we, under my direction, tracked and animated assets like the Big Mac box and festive cracker. The final films, featuring consistent colour grading and festive jingles, directed by me, delighted the client for their nationwide launch on TikTok, Instagram, and X.
